Tobin McComas serves as Vice President of Development for the Chamber. Prior to joining, he spent three years with Openfinance, the first compliant trading platform for blockchain based securities. While there, he led the Business Development, Sales, and Marketing teams working closely with issuers, transfer agents, and other ecosystem participants. Tobin’s earlier career spanned two highly complex industries: Capital Markets and Healthcare.
Between 2008 and 2017, he worked in the Institutional Equities space for CLSA Americas and Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. While at CLSA, Tobin was responsible for the equity research sales effort for the US Midwest. Prior to that, he led US equity research sales in the London, UK office for Sanford C. Bernstein after covering institutional asset managers in Boston. Before this, he was the Vice President of Business Development within the Strategic Development group of UnitedHealthcare (UHC). Leading the Aggregated Employer Groups team, he was responsible for strategic distribution of UHC products and services via non-traditional channels, including Private Equity firms and Trade Associations.
Before joining the Strategic Development group, Tobin was an Account Executive in the Chicago sales office where he focused on new business acquisition through the broker/consultant channel in the 100 – 5,000 employee segment. Between 1998 and 2005, Tobin held various roles in sales, account management, and operations management at CIGNA HealthCare.
Tobin earned his BBA from the University of Kentucky in 1997, where he captained the varsity men’s soccer team his senior year. Further, he completed his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2006.
